Can I trust a free teeth whitening kit?

I ordered a personal item online and a free teeth whitening kit came with it. I haven’t tried it yet, but I am wondering if this is something I can trust. There is no brand name on the kit. Thanks Janelle

Janelle – If there is no indication of the manufacturer of the teeth whitening kit or the ingredients in the gel, it is best not to use it.

Many people report receiving free teeth whitening gel or kits only to find out that the tubes didn’t contain bleaching gel at all. In some cases, teeth were discolored by the gel.

The only way to trust free teeth whitening is if it is provided by a dentist. Some dentists offer it as a reward for keeping your regularly scheduled exams and cleanings. Depending on the dentist, the type of free whitening gel and its effectiveness will vary. Some dentists offer whitening strips, others offer free whitening gel after your first whitening treatment.

If you want an affordable way to safely whiten your teeth, ask your dentist about his or her offerings and how they can be made affordable for you.
