Can I get dental implants 1 at a time if I can’t afford all 3 at once?

I need 3 dental implants for missing premolars. I saw an implant dentist who my regular dentist referred me to. He told me the cost for 3 and I told him that I simply don’t have thousands of dollars to replace all 3 teeth. I asked which tooth he recommends that I replace first and he kept saying that all 3 of them need to be done and it is better if I get it done and over with. I am all for getting it done and over with but I don’t have the money for all of that right now. So now I am thinking about what I was told and wondering who it’s better for if I get all of the work done. Is it better for me or better for the dentist and his pocket? I don’t expect to find dental implants for free, but is it possible for me to get dental implants 1 at a time if I can’t afford all 3 at once? Jimmy

Lance – Yes, it is possible to receive dental implants in stages to make them more affordable for you. This is particularly the case if you are replacing individual teeth with dental implants.

When implants are used to support dentures, they are placed in pairs. Both standard implants and smaller, mini implants are available to stabilize dentures.

Were you given an explanation of why it would be more beneficial for you to receive all three implants at once? If not, you may want to call the implant dentist’s office for more information, or schedule an appointment with the dentist to get the details.

We suggest that you get a second and a third opinion from experienced implant dentists. This will help determine if there are underlying issues that might lead to the recommendation you received.

In addition to receiving dental implants in stages, you can ask for information on payment plans and financing that fit your budget.
