How much do dental implants cost?

I have found plenty of dentists that do implants. I just want to know how much they cost. I am not interested in a consultation and I don’t want to get pressured to get them. Will you please just give me a ballpark figure of how much they cost? Thanks. Lawrence

Lawrence – A quality, single standard dental implant usually costs $2500 to $4000 dollars. The cost can vary depending on the dentist and where you live in the country. The cost includes implant surgery and implant fixtures. There are other factors that may influence the cost:

  • Tooth extraction – If an existing tooth needs to be extracted and replaced with a dental implant, there will be a fee for the extraction.
  • Bone grafting – A dental implant is placed only if there is adequate jawbone to support it. If a tooth has been missing for some time, the jawbone in that area begins to shrink. Inadequate bone must be replaced with bone grafting, and additional costs are associated with it.
  • Implant crown – A dental crown, or the white portion of the tooth, is secured to the implant fixture. There is a separate cost for the dental crown.
  • Implant size – There are various sizes of implants, and the cost varies with them. Mini implants may be used to support dentures. They cost less than standard implants.

Find a few experienced implant dentists with whom you can have consultations or exams to determine what services you need to receive quality dental implants. Also discuss the cost for your case, and what can be done to help make implants affordable for you. Payment plans and financing are often available.
