Dental Implants for Stuntmen

I’ve had a spate of bad luck in my field. I’m a stuntman. Typically we lose a tooth or two a year. I’ve lost three over the last six months. I’m not sure why, but I need to find good replacements. Will dental implants hold up for someone like me? I’m worried I’m going to lose all my teeth if things continue like this.

Dental Implants are As Secure as Natural Teeth

I’m sorry for your run of bad luck. I’m sure your job is stressful enough without having to worry about becoming toothless. I’ll go over dental implants in a moment, but beforehand let’s address why you are losing so many teeth.

You are losing quite above the average it seems. Is there a possibility you have developed some gum disease? That would explain them coming out more easily and often than they do for your colleagues. If you see a dentist regularly, they should be warning you about those type of developments.

However, if you don’t see a dentist regularly, you could have periodontitis and not even know it. Either way, it is definitely time for a checkup for you. If you don’t have a mouthguard, while you are at the dentist’s it is time to have him make you one.

They can be made to custom fit your teeth and to look as natural as you need for your job. They will aid you in protecting your teeth.

One other possibility is you are grinding your teeth at night without realizing it. This can weaken and even crack your teeth. They’ll also grind them down to nubs so your dentist should notice the signs and warn you. A simple night guard can help protect them from the results of grinding.

Dental Implants

Getting Dental implants are a fantastic replacement for your teeth. While they are like having natural, healthy teeth in your mouth, it is not any stronger than your natural teeth. Trauma to them could cause them to get knocked out just like your natural teeth.

If they get knocked out, a replacement will require an additional procedure of bone grafting so they’ll be able to retain in your jaw properly.

I hope this helps. Please see if you can find out the cause. That may keep you from needing even more implants in the future.
