How much do teeth whitening kits cost?

I inherited a bunch of teeth whitening kits from my cousins who both go to the same dentist. They bought teeth whitening for life from their dentist. Every time they go they get a kit with gel. They have so much of the stuff that they have given a lot of it to me. I’m not really into the teeth whitening thing, but I love selling things online so I want to know how much a professional kit from a dentist would cost. I will post and sell it at a fair price. Thanks. – Karisa

Karisa – What you have described isn’t really a teeth whitening kit. It sounds more as if you were given the bleaching gel only from your cousin’s dentist. The bleaching gel a dentist provides isn’t for resale.

If you don’t want the gel, it’s best not to try to sell it to someone else. And you definitely shouldn’t sell it as a kit. A kit implies that there are bleaching trays and instructions on how to get most out of the treatment.

Do you really want to be responsible for telling people all the things they need to know about their teeth before they start bleaching them?

  • A dental cleaning and examination are needed.
  • A dentist needs to determine if the person is a candidate for whitening.
  • Only a dentist can predict the effects of whitening. It can make spots or stains worse in some cases.
  • The strength of the bleaching gel and the length of the treatment sessions need to be determined by a dentist.

Do you really want to illegally sell the teeth whitening gel? The bleaching gel was a generous gift, but you don’t want to create legal or liability issues for yourself by selling a product that is not meant for resale.
