How much does a tooth filling cost?

I think I have a cavity. My tooth zings when anything cold touches it and it hurts on and off. I don’t have dental insurance. Will you please tell me how much a tooth filling costs? Kam

Kam – The cost of a tooth filling is affected by the size of the cavity and whether or not white composite filling is used versus amalgam or “silver” filling.

Depending on where you are located in the country and which dentist you choose, a composite filing can cost between $150 and $500. The approximate cost of an amalgam filling is $100 to $300.

If you do not have a dentist, you can call a few dentists in your area receive an approximate cost. And if you don’t have dental insurance, you can ask about your payment options.
