Crest white strips didn’t whiten my veneers

I put white strips on my top and bottom teeth. My top teeth have 8 veneers but my bottom teeth are just my own natural teeth. My own teeth got a little whiter but the veneers look the same. Do I need s stronger box of white strips, or does the dentist have to whiten my veneers. Makaylee

Makaylee – After your veneers are made, they cannot be whitened, either with whitening strips or bleaching gel from a dentist. The color of the porcelain is set, and it cannot be changed. It does not absorb stains, nor does it absorb whitening gel.

A skilled dentist can polish your veneers to make them look brighter, but they won’t get any shades whiter than they already are. Be careful, standard polishing equipment can crack the glaze in veneers. Ensure that the dentist and hygienist you use are familiar with polishing porcelain veneers. Unfortunately, the only way to get whiter porcelain veneers is to get new porcelain veneers.

Anyone who wants to whiten his or teeth should have the whitening completed before the porcelain veneers are placed. Teeth-whitening gel continues to work for a few weeks after the treatment is completed. So wait about three weeks after your teeth whitened before you receive porcelain veneers.
