I Need Help Affording Dental Implants

I am in a position where I am losing all of my teeth, even though I am only in my 30s. Unfortunately, I have no way of paying for dental implants and I do not want dentures. Do you know of a dentist who would allow me to get the dental implants if I did free advertising for them?

Dear Grace,

Snap-on Dentures

I am so sorry for the situation you have found yourself in. It is frustrating to need something that you just don’t have the funding for. Unfortunately, I don’t think the advertising offer will work simply because dentists find it easy to get people to advertise for them even for free. However, I do have some suggestions that might be helpful.

  • First, you could get snap on dentures. These are one type of affordable dental implants.  They are not as great as a full set of dental implants, but will secure the dentures and prevent facial collapse from the areas where there are implants.
  • You could see if there is a dental school in your area that teaches how to do dental implants to dentists. They often offer the procedure at a discounted price because you are being treated by students who are still learning. They will be supervised by an experienced instructor.
  • There may be a dentist willing to let you break up the payments into feasible amounts for you. Some dentists have inhouse payment plans. Others, work with a company called Care Credit that pays for your procedure up front and then lets you pay them out with low interest payments.
  • A final option is to start out with removable dentures while you save up for the dental implants that secure them.

I hope one of these options works for you.
